Hi, I'm Square Enix, I don't believe we've met

Squenix milks just about anything. And thing is, it sells. Anything with "Final Fantasy", "Dragon Quest", "Kingdom Hearts", hell, even "Xeno" in the title are gonna top the charts.

this game messed my touchscreen up worse than metroid prime could've ever dreamed of...

totally wish it would not use the TS as much, also, no fucked up Wear only this brand - quest... those were so annoying

Xeno titles aren't milked as much as FF though, they just do the same damn thing in the game.
I could understand if it was non-linear, but Square Enix non-linear games aren't common.
I never play FF once I beat it, no point in playing the same story over and over and over.

I never got into TWEWY, after the third "I'll give it a try" I stopped trying.

I was eating cerial then i saw this then the food in my mouth fell out then i showed it to my friend and he scream yeah he

I'm not seeing how they're going to do this, but I know they'll do it right... But because it's based around a 'game' they can probably introduce more characters, but in my honest opinion, I don't want this happening unless he has some deep connection with Neku, like Roxas to Sora... However I do remember Neku saying he did have 'a' friend before arriving at the game...

I didn't think the first one was good enough to deserve a sequel. It's basically a lot of novelty Japanese stuff and a crappy battle system. It's one of the few games I'll debate to hell and back that it's not good. But for the sake of here I won't.
+1

they just see this as a money making opportunity

You should!

Besides, you can always lower the difficulty setting to make it easier.

Anyway, I'd love to play a sequel. If it's gonna have even more complex and awesome battle system and again a thrilling story...then wow. I still haven't finished the first game, am almost at the end though, so a couple of more hours should do it. But whatever the ending is, unless it's really weird, there still is room for a sequel plot-wise. And given how some sequels can be good and even better than the original game, I'm not afraid that they will ruin it. Especially if it will come out on the 3DS - mind you though, it's not explicitly stated whether it will come out on the DS or the 3DS.

they can always do the "it's the TWEWY franchise, but no continuity" thing like in FF where every game was a separate universe with some shared concepts. i think that if they think they can do a sequel that does the original game justice, then by all means go. hopefully, they won't decide to punish some of us by making it a 3DS exclusive, though.

HELL YES HELL YES HELL YES HELL YES I loved that game. I would HELL YES even more if it is released on the DS... Seriously though, I hope this isn't gonna be 3DS exclusive if it's ever developed.

While I love the original and think it was a brilliant and original title, I don't think it's franchise material. Given the subject matter it'd be extremely difficult to keep a series fresh and innovative, it would only slowly stagnate and diminish the original if you ask me. In my humble opinion there shouldn't be a sequel to TWEWY, but developers should take a good long look at it and realise that if sufficient effort is put in, you can sell a game that contains original ideas instead of simply sucking the cock of established franchises and slowly stagnating the entire industry.

Besides, a sequel would only serve to cause yet another shitstorm on the Gamefaqs forums about how 'emo' the main character is. Evidently the endless slurry of emotionless space marines has left the general populace unable to understand the base concept of emotional depth without resorting to tired and childish insults.

Present company excepted, naturally.

I can see the FF concept working, but just not as much change as FF. Like have new characters, same premise, and then somewhere later incorporate old characters, not as playable (maybe), but as side characters. It just seems that would make a cool story. And i was going to say a different place, but no. Shibuya is where it is meant to be. Also, by the time this ever gets done, most of us will probably have a 3DS, so exclusivity would be fine. Only problem there, is that battle would be terribly stomach churning, going from 3D to not 3D.

I only enjoyed the story of the game.

It was like you needed an extra hand and eye to play properly.
