Nokia N900 Flashing Issue

couldn't find a response on XDA so I am reposting it here.

I have recently bought a nokia n900 and I found out after a couple of uses there is a bad device mmc... issue so not an issue I thought and booted maemo leste from sd card in the meantime and did the steps for reflashing. But everytime I try to reflash after pressing U and connecting usb whenever I use the flasher it clicks then goes to u boot severing the connection. Any ideas?

This is a warning to everybody experiencing this issue to NOT reflash the kernel replacing u boot. I cant charge my battery, my nokia n900 is now in a limbo mode where it cannot run many apps because of out of memory, etc. Please try other steps before doing this.
