This happened after using the gold one as a legit console (having transferred onto it from a previous 3DS), then formatting emuNAND and unlinking, then system transferring to the n3DS. The gold one is showing sysNAND.

Does anyone know if this could be used to have your bought games on two consoles? I'm afraid I didn't think of putting freemultipatcher on and going to eShop to see if my games redownloaded themselves! I just took the photo and then formatted.

I guess you won't be able to sign in on the small 3DS. Thus you can't download eshop titles on two consoles.

^ This. There are server-side NNID checks in place that keep track of which console a NNID is tied to and whether that NNID is signed in or not. You wouldn't be able to sign in on the o3DS, same as if you tried to sign in from any other console other than the one the NNID is linked to.
