Hello.

I have a son with the Yokai pre-loaded 2DS with his NNID linked to it, I have loaded funds onto my Nintendo account for him to buy a Mario game but the funds can't be transferred to his DS as the dates of birth are different. Nintendo refuse to refund the monies so I can create a Nintendo account with his details (family sharing would be SO much easier), so I need to try and remove his NNID from the DS and create a new NNID with my date of birth to transfer the funds. Soooo complicated.

Can I remove an NNID from a DS without resetting and losing the Yokai game?? Or is there any other way to solve this mess? Literally at the end of my tether with this.

I don't know if the same stands to this day, but back in 2015 or something, i made the mistake of deleting my original brazilian NNID on my 3DS and creating a new american one. I lost acess to all my eShop content. At the time i didn't had anything important, just some demos, but i had The Legend of Zelda Four Swords 25th anniversary edition. Because the promotion for this game was over, i couldn't get it back, so i lost it forever lol.

3DSes with pre-loaded games (such as Yo-Kai Watch) come without any NNID attached. But when you create a new NNID for that system, everything installed there will be attached to the NNID. When you enter eShop, Nintendo's server gives your NNID a sort of "ticket" to all your purchases and games you own, if you delete the existing NNID, you'll lose that as well.
