Hi guys,
I was looking through the supported controllers page in the nintendont and I noticed that wii u pro controllers were supported. So I was wondering if off brand pro controllers are compatible with Nintendont.

I don't know if there's a way to make them work, but one way to know if you're using an official pro controller is whether or not it works in nintendont, I think. at least, I know of several people who were unable to get fakes to work.

So should I get like an off brand wii classic controller with on brand wii remotes?

I don't know if those work. @pedro702 has been updating nintendont, I believe, so he's probably the person to ask. I haven't updated nintendont in a long time, since everything that I use works. I don't know if updates help with those controllers.

From my experience, off brand controllers (wii pro controller, wii arcade stick) work on the wii, but not on (s)nes classic or usb or bluetooth converters.
Nintendont uses a slimmer Bluetooth stack than the official Wii SDK. Unofficial controllers not made to Nintendo's official Bluetooth specs aren't nearly as likely to work.

Not saying you need to strictly stick to OEM, but licensed hardware like from Hori is a much safer bet than any old aftermarket.

i have to admit, my first post centers more around wii controller, which are wired.
must have skipped the inital U of "wii u"

Hi guys,

Hi, I have 2 third party Wii U Pro Controllers and they do work in Nintendont, you have to go to the Wii Menu, then pair the Wii U Pro Controller (even if it is already paired, you have to pair it every time you plan to play Nintendont games), then navigate to Nintendont or a USB Loader of you preference with the Wii Remote, select a GC game, turn on the Wii U Pro Controller and voila they will work

This works with WIISXR too

Note: You don't have to pair the controller again if you don't use it on the Wii U Mode
