OC/no OC doesn't matter, the fan settings for handheld only go upto 60% unless you mess with/modify them.
It does matter so long if the temp in handheld goes above 50c+.
Try playing it on handheld with 921mhz GPU and see whats the max fan speed

60% is used from 53C up to 1000C according to the setting, so uh.
You have anything in your settings config (atmosphere/config/system_settings)?

Nothing at all. I just wish i could control the fan speeds but seems like i could only control the skin temp with "tskin_rate_table_handheld"
@ZachyCatGames could you show me a screenshot of your overlay in FULL?

That's... odd. idk then. Even with the docked settings it shouldn't reach 90% until tskin reaches like 57C (which is not at all easy to reach)...

tskin is calculated from SoC temp, PCB temp, and some other stuff, don't see the issue with just using that shrugs

just checked again, it slowly goes up to max 100% in handheld with just 53~54c..
In docked, i only get 30~40%+ with 61c+
There is no solution as of now..

I am playing animal crossing New Horizons in handled mode. I have readings of 48 degrees maximum in SOC and the fan is running at 28% maximum. All this is said by Tesla Menu with the info of frames, temperature and more.

Are these readings normal?

Someone who knows about it?

I Know maybe this is an old topic, but;

I was testing my Nintendo because I think i have Overheat problem.

So my Temperatures:

Playing fast RMX for about 40min docked:

GPU Frequency: 768Mhz
Load: 90%

Core0: 62%
Core1: 7%
Core2: 8%
Core3: 38%

Soc: 60c
PCB: 58,5c
Skin: 50c

Fan 49,5%

Those temperatures are normal? For test I leave the SHIP stopped on the track, so the load from cores and CPU Mantain those values.

Those temps are fine.

I got those temps (in a planet).

Cpu 1785MHzz
GPU 921,6MHz
Mem 1600MHz

SoC: 70 C
PCB: 67,2 C
Skin: 56,1 C

Fan: 85,09%

Those are to High? Anyone could compare?

They are fine also. for me playing Starlink my SOC is around 64/65 PCB 60 and skin 58.

I have redone my CPU paste and have heat pads on the ram so this could be the reason for slightly lower temps but yours are ok so not to worry.

Those are actually some very good temps. I guess you got a Red boxed switch?

are you living in the arctic circle?
i replaced thermal paste too, but the switch still reports around 50° most of the time, just the fans are spinning less.

Using overclock or stock clocks?

How much switch can support?I Tried to find the information and can't. I saw some tests where a guy measure the temps and the switch turns off with about 72C, but he is using a external termomether for that and not the internal SOC sensor.

I have 2 switchs, one V1 for homebrew and other redbox for legit play, Those temperatures are from my V1, the Redbox I can't measure the temperature but after a hour playing docked mode, when I touch the Skin from then I feel a really huge difference in how much they warm. The V1 I feel the back and the screen very hot while the new one is a lot coldier, maybe because the new tegra. Thats is what I'm worried about, when I touch my V1 after playing docked, I feel a light unconfortable becouse the switch is very hot.

Thats why I want know if those following temperatures are ok.

I don't want to Spam, but if anyone can help i will appreciate.

Hi Fella,

For starlink I was using stock clocks.

I think the switch thermals and protection shut off at around 75 degrees from what i remember.

I have redone the thermal paste on my switch to be honest and have heat pads on the ram modules so that will explain my lower temps.
