The charging light gives one quick blink and then stays off when I plug it into a power source. I tried the following without success so far:
Plugged directly into Nintendo wall AC adapter.
Replaced the battery.

The board might be dead if you already changed the battery, for some people they had to press the sync button again to wake up the pro controller.

Didn't work for me, the controller works only if it's plugged in a power source

my guess is that the chip on the board controlling the charging function is dead, even though you can still power it with the power source plug in.

old post but yes my pro controller led blinks when I plug in a USB cable and shuts off. I took measurements going to the battery and I get 5v dropping back to 0v nonstop in a cycle. I think a dead is dead. Hoping someone may know which chip it could be. I've checked the fuses and they are good.

Chances are that it is just the charger chip.
The original joycons use the bq24193 for that.
Maybe the pro uses the same chip as it' just a joycon in another package.
