Hello guys,

I've been encountering annoying symptoms on a New 3DS XL;
I think it's the battery detection that's faulty because it's not charging at all. However, i can't find anything about the battery detection circuit, anywhere.
I already swapped power boards with a functional one ; still the same issue.
When I plug it in, I have a ornage light that lasts 3seconds and turns off, as if I had no battery inside or a full battery. But I have a battery inside, and it's not full.

Does anyone know what could faulty? I think the issue is on the motherboard, as i changed the powerboard and the ribbon connecting both as well.

Thanks by advance,

How's the battery itself? I had this problem, or at least what I think you're talking about, with a New 2DS XL and it was due to the battery itself. I replaced the battery, and everything worked like it was supposed to work.

Also, screw the person who decided to use that 3M pad to glue the battery inside it's very secure battery compartment. That sticky pad is a huge pain in the ass when replacing the battery in a New 2DS XL.

Hey, thanks for your answer.
I forgot to tell but I tried with 3 or 4 perfectly working batteries, still the same issue...

Sorry to post on defunct forum. but I'm having a strange issue that i haven't seen anyone else taking about. my new 3ds xl has a fairly new battery in it(only few months old) and it turns on just fine. But it refuses to charge..i plug in the charger and No light .i left it plugged in over night and the battery dissipated as normal. Could this be as simple as replacing the charge port? It could also be the charger itself. I don't have a second one. Or a different ds to test the charger i do have.....any help would be appreciated.. I started a now forum on this.. Thanks!

hey, have you checked the fuse next to the connector? it could be that or the connector itself

Excuse me, did you solve it? I see it wasn't long ago, and I have the exact same problem. I'd like to repair my console, but I don't know exactly which component of the motherboard is causing the problem (it's a New 3DS XL).
I'm sure it's the motherboard because I already changed the powerboard, and it works even without a battery, just plugged in.
I hope you were able to solve it, and thank you by advance.
