there was a topic here which pointed to a proggie to rip the nds music... anyone remember which topic? I'm not the best searcher ever...

however, this is such a tedious process..
here's what I have to do:
fire up VGMtrans, open the rom... click each song and export for each song both mid and dls (that's 7 clicks for each song) (I wish there was a way to just EXPORT ALL to same folder in this proggie)

After this is done, then I rename all the DLS to match the midi songs name.

prolly takes longest... I could perhaps make a script for this.

then after that I fire up Awave Studio, open batch convertor.. Click midi. then I add all midi files... Then I export to rmi files

After that I open em up in ModPlug Tracker.. and save as .it or .mp3

I can either play the RMI songs with winamp with DirectMusic set as device for midi, then the sound is badass (then it uses soundfont of your soundcard).. Or I can convert to it or mp3, but those get a bit loss of the quality.

here's a step by step guide on another forum... http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=44850

maybe its like .xt, when you have midi AND you have your instruments with it, like chiptunes.
there is another possibility, thats is DS has a very good wave table.

Nah, the instruments are included with the files, which is why they sound completely wrong (sometimes the instruments are wrong) if you play them on you soundcard.
