Hello,

So i recently found my old nintendo ds lite (black) and i wanted to start it up again etc, it worked fine loaded gba games and ds games which i have original, but i also had an m3 ds real flash card, so i try'd to download the firmware on a site called 4flashkaarten dont try to go there to use the firmware for the m3 ds real since it doesn't work and it will brick your system.
When i copied everything to my micro sd card and i put the thing back in the m3 ds real i put it in my ds started it up and it loaded up and i was like nice! it asked me what langauge i wanted to have so i clicked my langauge, it went to install mode or w/e it did and suddenly my ds shutted down and it is not turning on anymore. The only thing that happens when i turn it on is the bottom screen flickering white for a second and directly turns the ds lite off, it didn't had any issue and worked perfectly fine... is there a solution i could unbrick my ds? Or is it bios related/fuses which are blown up? Hopefully someone could enlighten me up what the issue is, thanks!:)

does the ds-lite turn on if the m3 ds real isn't inserted? if it still boots up then you could use this alternative firmware for your m3 ds real i have the same card and this firmware works very good.

Yes the ds lite does turn on but it doesn't boot, it just flickers a white screen for a second then instantly shuts down, so i don't see anything else when booting it up except the 1 second white screen on the bottom screen, weird thing is the ds was fine until i used that particular software idownloaded and when i installed it when the m3 ds real asked me to pick a langauge it shutted down suddenly. So idk if it's hardware related now that it broke or software related

okay, then i dont know how to solve this. maybe looking for a way to reset it propperly?

Ye i am not sure what the issue is, but the ds worked fine before i tryd to install it with m3 ds real so i don't think it is a hardware issue more a firmware of the ds issue itself? I don't know resets for the ds sadly, hopefully someone else knows it i guess?

not good. i wish you much luck with your device. sorry i wasn't much of a help.

Hey so i tried to turn my ds lite on again and guess what? It works again, is this a power issue of some sort? Or a failing screen? It's so weird cause it started to flicker a white screen when i tried to put it on and then turn off directly.. but now it works again, which is amazing though!:D but what is the reason it acts like this?

I haven't been gaming for such a long time. Been mostly busy with sleep, hardware tinkering and checking GBAtemp frequently.

It's going alright thanks :) I know what you mean with gaming time. It's precious where I can get it these days.

That must be rough. Productive I'm sure but hard to balance with daily life

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.

Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.

Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha

@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
