Hi,

are there any plans or even rumors about following console? Is it going to happen or no one talks about it?

Nintendo has re-applied for some copyrights related to N64 controllers, iirc, which kind of hints at it being a possibility. There's also the incredible success of the previous two Classic systems, so it's almost a no brainer for them.

That doesn't mean it's confirmed, though. At this point, it's rumor, and rumor only.

Well yeah, this should be more than enough to think that there is really high possibility that it will happen. From what I've heard, NES classic mini is enough powerful to run N64 roms. So even without changing chipset, it should run it. Basically they made it already?

@Virdoo Nintendo didn’t make an N64 emulator for that hardware yet, hackers ported an unofficial one.

The existing hardware is just about capable, but with a slight upgrade and an officially licenced emulator it would run far better.
