I have a d2c I bought in october of 2007 it has never had a firmware update ad I haven't bought the internet connection for it. I burned a PAL games patched as a Ntsc when I went to open it it said It needed to update my system is there a way o get around this? it said any mods on the system would become inoperable.

Scrub it to remove the update, all should be ok
The best way of getting around this problem is to simply stick to games that are the same region as your wii
