yes they are, I think the new ones come with Lite-ons. search for the guide

Currently they can all be modded. Although I suppose there could be a slight chance that they modified the drive in the resident evil bundles to stop them from being modded.

Supposedly they are, but you never know.

Yea the new ones have the lite on drives, which are now moddable. It also has the jasper motherboard which "supposedly" does not mess up now (rrod).
