I worked in the Xbox division at Microsoft.

This will never be patched. There is no one left there who understands the backend systems that support these old consoles. When I wrapped up there there were barely enough folks around who knew how to keep the Xbox One-era backends up and running w.r.t certificates and the like. And that was 2 or 3 years ago already.

Any person who *is* still there that understands/remembers these systems is so senior by this point that they have way more important things they are focusing on.

That might explain why I was able to use LIVE for downloading TU's even with non-approved files on my HDD such as ihelper.xex and emulator saves for NeoGenesis emulator for original Xbox.

Speaking of original Xbox, I detest that MS named the third Xbox to 'Xbox One' therefore redirecting web searches for the original system to their, at the time, newest console.

Edit: @alexfree It seems some one else had a similar idea: https://github.com/theretrogeekyt/Xpode360-Starter-Pack

guys just an important detail using this exploit. Specially with Xbox 360 E models. Take care what USB kind you use on it, certain pendrives will make this exploit much more difficult to work. I don't know if is about how was programmed the exploit or whatever but, shit happens with certain pendrives, and for sure the same with certain external USB HDDs.

Can you tell us which USB flash drives work?

I have an xbox360 slim (halo reach edition), could this exploit be used to dump the dvd key and replace it with an ODE?

That's why I said that I'll compile a list with how long per attempt and how many attempts it takes to get into Bad Update with whatever console is used. 😅

I don't have a Winchester to confirm. Bad Update is not always perfect and it's unclear whether each model of 360 has a different outcome, but somebody might know.
Here to update my previous post. So far I got a few entries with one being incomplete. So for every attempt with Bad Update takes 20-minutes, it seems that the likelihood of there being a successful attempt varies on whichever model and setup you have. Winchester seems to be the most troublesome as opposed to trinity slims or phats. USB flash drives do not change anything (aside from speed).

It would be great to get a slightly higher success rate.
I have a Slim Winchester, and sometimes it loads in 2 or 3 attempts of 1 or 2 minutes maximum.
Other times, I've been able to try for almost an hour, and between 10 and 15 attempts lasting several minutes.

For the rest, once Xploit is loaded,
I'm very happy with everything I can do with Aurora.
It's almost a normal RGH in every way.

Here lately I have got it to work in 1-2 tries each time on my Falcon v3.

Has anyone noticed that sometimes if a game (like Skyrim) attempts to freeze, it would pop up a notification saying exception intercepted and send you back to the dashboard instead of locking the console?
This great little feature never happened until using xeunshackle.

So what is stopping the freeze up? Is Aurora and/or with the Nova plugin launching games? I used a tool decrypt and decompress the xeunshackle default.xex and could not find any such text about intercepting exceptions.

And speaking of Skyrim, has anyone else used mods with it? You can easily do this by downloading the free Multi Utility 6.1 by selyb and use the Xbox 360 file manager Velocity to inject esm, esp, bsa to use mods on the 360 version. Not everything will work but it is neat running mods on this version.

However, I have an issue: Objects for some mods are showing red triangles with an exclamation point in them. Looking around it is an issue of meshes not being loaded. None of the mod files I use are missing any files. I have checked them each.

Edit: Here was the latest (I think?) version of Multi Utility made for use on Skyrim to use on the Xbox 360 and PS3 as a Console Menu alternative.

Last edited by Afeohtan,
is there one post that goes over what's actually needed and how to do it or do I have to read every post in every thread about this hoping to find what I want to know

thank you

I still have to get a controller (thank god the 360 supports usb keyboards, or I wouldn't even know mine works) and past that

how would I update the dashboard to 17559 from 17489?

ultimately that depends on sending people to it and how well the particular page is kept in a readable and updated state

Has anyone else tried surreal64 and the ports included and got any of them working? I tried one a while back and it froze on me.
