Remember to delete any previous instalations from the SD card as it wont grab the newer version if the old one is there

Ok guys, so I know how to use NUSD, and all the other stuff, im on 4.2E. Just a couple questions if anybody can help me?

Is it safe to update through the Wii, or should I just use a Wad, or the Shop Installer?

Does the shop installer work on a PAL console?

And do I just put the .dol in the apps folder as usual? And do I need to put the crc folder, and the copying file on the root?

for those having issues with WiiSCU, could you try this: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=186837
Tried it and worked fine. All I need to do now is decide which game is worth getting even though I have all the good ones with an emulator. I wish they gave 500 credit instead so I could add on to it and buy something other than an NES games.

Quick question. I'm on a softmodded 4.1u with bootmii as an ios and preloader .29 jodi and I want to update the shop channel along with and the other ones using wiscu, should i enable trucha on the channels to be updated or not?

Marcmax has updated the Wii Shop and IOS61 installer to handle the 21st October update. The download link can be found here.

I tried this with an unmodded 4.2 Japanese Wii (updated from 4.0 to 4.2 with Safe 4.2 Firmware Updater) and it worked great.
Thanks.

I have a modded wii. No homebrew channel(whatever that it). Is it safe to update my Wii to the latest version through my Wii? Or will the games i downloaded won't work anymore? I heard that if you updated it, the Wii wont read any CD's anymore. Only Original Wii games Cd's will be read. Please reply to me....... I can't wait to get my 500 Virtual Console points for a Nes game.

The Wii never could read CDs; only DVDs. Just update to 4.2 then follow the guide at the top of the stickies to get everything back into working order.

It's basically 4.1 but it deletes the old HBC, breaks region free for modchips, and bricks region-changed Korean consoles. Not a huge problem unless you depend on a chip or have a Korean wii.

Yeah, i mean DVD's.
But does it do anything to a modchip? Thats my question. And what is HBC? And im sure my Wii isn't region free. So should i update? Thanks alot

I already told you that it breaks a modchip's ability to play out-of-region games. GeckoOS still works just fine though. The HBC = Homebrew Channel. Update if you feel like it.
