Hacking New wii update bricks all modded wii's O_O..

So yea..i went to update...and it gave me this message that if the wii was modified then the update will cause the wii to not operate...anyone have any more info or by passing it to upgrade? i couldn't find much on the net.

I did but couln't find to much...and from what i know its a update from 3.0...you get a warning message when you go to update

(and it's just a stupid warning just update nothing happens)

not only will it brick your wii but it will make you get diareah as soon as you click "update"

it's impossible for them to brick the wii just cos of a drive chip.

He's right you really can't detect a drive chip because it acts independently from the system. All it really does is sit there and acts like a gateway, when something tries to play that isn't the original the "gate" goes "Hey, its ok it's real" and the Wii goes "Really?!! Okey Dokey Smokey Tehehehehehe" and it plays it.

So really think of it kinda as a secret shortcut.

Just make sure before you update that the wiiconnect 24 is switched off. Some people have had problems with some of the channels.

I really hate topic titles like this...The update is like 2 months old? And that warning doesn't even say it will brick your Wii...

Yeah, seeing the subject line I figured some -new- update was released and was slightly concerned... until I read the message and it was about the old update.
