Hacking NEW VC INJECTOR :)

hi to all, i try to inject mario rpg with italian translation in the wad of mario rpg by orangechicken but when i try i get this error:

SNES mode
Using ROM file: Super Mario RPG.smc
Number of files on file 00000005.APP: 8
No snes rom file found on 00000005.APP.
Maybe this is not a SNES WAD.

What can be the problem?

this one work fine Super_Mario_RPG_SNES_PAL-PROPER-0RANGECHiCKEN but cant inject anithyng
 
Its because the rom have an "special" name and its compressed with Lz77. For instance, the VC injector cant recognice the rom.

You can do it "by hand" following the steps i gave in the mario rpg thread
 
Great app! I've managed to inject Fatal Fury 3! It runned perfectly!!! very good!
but unfortunatly king of fighters 97 didn't worked... The program injected the wad but it was too big! 79 mb...tried on the wii and it did'nt work...
Is there any progess with big neo geo roms???

I think so. VC games are charged to ram... just in case N reprogram their emulators in order to charge the games in a diferent way there arent anything to do.

Well there's nothing to do right now anyway. Eventually I've got to think that snk is going to want to release some of it's larger roms. When it does they'll make a work-around and we'll simply use these new donor wads to inject with.

Of course, there's one on the DS so shouldn't be that hard to port one onto the Wii.

All of us know the psp and Ds emulators... (and looks strange when our wii's cant work like her little brother/syster...) but unfortunatelly VC emulators are not "free source code" and other emus works under linux (they have large charge time...) The VC "emulators" charge all the game in memory (all of them) for instance if N dont want/cant/need to change it we dont have anything to do with game injection(or wait for a better mame realese...)
 
IT WOULD BE ALSO POSSIBLE TO EDIT THOSE ROMS, DELETING MOVIES AND ETC...
DECREASING THE SIZE OF THE ROM!
JUST LIKE THEY DID WITH SSBB...

neogeo games don't contain any movies. you could delete backgrounds, so you play in front of a black screen. or the music. or you could just shoot yourself.
 
After "some work" with neogeo injection, i finally arrive to a conclussion...

The injector works very very nice... but...

With neogeo games there are a little bug injecting some "m1" files.

M files used to be 64Kb or 128Kb

Happens when the M file is bigger than 64kb and after that possition continue with "FFFF"

The problem comes because if the injector finds that "FFFF", it cut the M file... (128KB -->64KB) And sometimes there are more data after that "FFFF" and for instance we could get a bad game.bin file (no sound usually)
 
I tried Goemon's Great Adventure(the second?), showing the title screen is OK, but being black screen in the game . is the reason that VC support without memory pak ?
