Hardware New to PS3 hacking...

Howdy chaps and chapesses, I'm getting a fat PS3 tomorrow and wondered where to start with hacking it. It seems there is a ton of info but Im not sure what is up to date or not. Do I need to upgrade FW to the latest from Sony? Which is the better FW to hack? What progs do I need to install once hacked.

Mainly want it for PS1,2,3 games and maybe emulators (is there an original xbox emu for it?). Not bothered about going online at all. Got a 2TB lappy drive to go into it.


Also, after modding, is it possible to use an Xbox 360 controller on it?

If you are bellow 3.55 u can install CFW like Rogero, Cobra, Rebug...
Otherwise go to last update and install the last 4.84 HFW,
And yes, u cant use xbox controller on ps3 unless there are some adapters which are expensive to play with xbox on ps3 ams vice versa [emoji6]

Well its on 4.84 so tried the 4.84 HFW but it keeps crashing when opening the web browser

There's not really a original Xbox emulator anywhere even on PC that runs games well so no.

Yeh I didn't think, there would be.

Is the HDD still tied to 1TB when jailbroken or can I install a 2TB?
