New R4 Casing.

The R4 Team have changed the casing of their fantastic product The R4.

From their website:

Besides the existing plastic shell, a new design of R4 is coming out. (Refer to the below picture 9/10/2007)

Notice: Nothing changed but the plastic shell for now

This also means it is not Spring loaded from the side, as some members think.
Only the casing has changed.

I don't know why they never made the R4 black in the first place. I got one of the first batch of the R4s with both white and black cases. I changed it to the black case as its the same colour as the microsd card and an original DS game.

Does any one know if they will sell the case seperate, i have had some problems in the past and would like to change to the new case with out having to get a whole new R4 Card.

Hopefully upgraded the quality of the spring loader as well.
Or... probably not since it's only the plastic.
In that case it should be possible to switch the case of an existing R4 to "upgrade" to the new case.

Just spotted this on the homepage:

Due to many compliants of the TF card slot problem, R4 team has improved it and released a new plastic shell. No push needed now!

And with "no push needed" I suppose there are no longer a spring loader, or what do you think?

theres a thread around here that confirms some of the theories in question. there is no spring anymore.
