Quote from the Taleworlds forum (Developer of the Mount and Blade series)

I've recently found an article in russian, but here's a quick translation in english (thanks to captain lust btw) about a new SiCh studio (the one that developed WFaS) project. Judging from project's name and knowing that it'll be based on Rafael Sabatini's book(s) I think it's already clear that the main theme of this add-on will be Pirates in the Caribbean islands. Note, that there won't be any 'Jack Sparrows' or skeletons - the add-on will be historically accurate, and will take place in XVIIth century (1650, to be precise).

Awesome I love pirates and the Mount and Blade series has to be my all-time favorite series. If you want more info check here.

Considering the game plays a lot like Sid Meier's Pirates, it feels like it kinda went full circle.

But Mount and Blade is a piece of shit but for some reason is highly enjoyable in some odd sense. I look forward to this add on.

What do you mean?

Structure wise (or lack of structure) and a more "choose your own adventure" thing. I mean Mount and Blade is honestly just Pirates with actual combat. They give you a character you can customize, plop you on a map, and let you do whatever. No storylines or real structure, you can just do anything. You can be a merchant, be a mercenary, or play the factions off each other.

It's what I call the "actual open world" structure.

I misread that as "Mounty and Blade" and eagerly clicked on the thread.

I was greatly disappointed.

Ah ok I see what you mean. I love creating my own story. Currently I'm playing as a bandit :D

I only discovered the game about a year ago and am glad I did.
Mount and blade is pretty damn fun. I'll have to check this out.
