Decided to try my hands at a new keyboard. My last one, which was my first custom, was a cheaper optical keyboard I got for free from Amazon. It has some Gateron Silver switches, durock plate mount stabs, all lubed up. Even installed some foam in it. It sounds great and feels pretty damn good, if I'm honest.
Now I've got my hands on the GMMK 2 65% keyboard from Glorious, in Silver. In it I've currently got the stock stabs that come from Glorious, using whatever lube comes stock. I've installed Gateron CJ Linears, since I can't find Banana Splits. They're unlubed currently. It's got a nice clack to it. Definitely prefer the thock. The switches also mute the RGB. Which.. I'm undecided on... Bluebird keycaps I picked up from Divinikey.
To do (in order of importance):
- Install Durock V2 screw in stabs
- Try to put some foam or other material to dampen the noise
- Maybe lube the switches? I don't know. They actually sound great stock.
- Find some better keycaps.
- Try out some new switches!!!
