That is not a very good battery life considering i can play on the R4 for more than 15hrs on lowest brightness... actually t'was said that with the R4 the battery life is 8hrs on full brightness so if this is also at full brightness then excellent but if at the lowest brightness then it sucks bad

you get 15 hours on lowest brightness setting? i get less than 6 hours on 2nd brightest. wtf is going on?!

The lifetime of your NDS battery depends on:
- the quality of the battery
- the type of SD card
- slot 1 or slot 2
- the type of NDS (normal ds or lite)

An NDS lite has a longer battery life.

Why does GBAtemp even bother to review this card? Why not review all R4 clones out there? R4-III, R4-SDHC, R4-Advance etc.?

I made the decision not to request a review sample cause I dont support these clones.

Besides, someone already mentioned: the Acekard 2 is like $15, why even consider a R4 clone for $25?

are you sure it just doesn't *seem* like 15hrs to you? the ds itself won't get 15hours, best i ever got out of mine before i had a slot1 was 7-9hrs. with my r4 on the 2nd brightness i get 5.5-6 hours (if i'm lucky), and around 3 if i'm doing wifi (web browsing, gaming). sometimes it seems like its been a week between charges and i would be quick to say i just got 8+ hours out of it. but i know that actually its just me playing in smaller intervals and playing more homebrew and not retail games which suck up ram and use the 3d processes of the ds.

So far im finding out these R4 knockoffs only support upto 4GB, data written to the card after the 4GB mark shows as gibberish... strangely though, moonshell shows the right names, but the mp3s are very wierd sounding and lock moonshell, can def tell the data is not being read right.

My R4 was starting to act up, suddenly thinking the card had been removed in the middle of a game, not being recognized on boot-up, etc.

There were games that would not work with the "current" firmware (1.18), which had not been updated since April of 2008.

I looked at possible replacement cards, and came to the NPlayer at a reduced price of $13 USD each. That was a heck of a lot less than I paid for my R4, so I got one for myself and one for my son.

With the updated firmware (3.04 11/2008), it plays the games that would not run on my R4.

I have experienced no hiccups with anything, and it works well with the R4 themes I had on my microSD. I'm completely satisfied with it, except for one issue: the cheat.dat file presents the cheats in Chinese rather than English. My user defined cheats work fine, though. I'm thinking of swapping the R4 cheat.dat for the NPlayer file to see if they work, and if I can read them in English. If anyone has tried this, I'd appreciate any insight.

Overall, it may be a clone, and one of many it seems, but I still find that it works to my satisfaction. I also find that my current 2GB microSD is sufficient for my uses, so a limit of 4GB is really not an issue for me.

Just thought I'd pass on my 2 cents.
