Hello guys I'm planning on buying a new (gaming) computer.
I was thinking of a quad core, but is that necesarry?
Also which motherboards do you recommend for use with a quad core?
I think I will go for a geforce 8 series but don't know yet which one and with how much memory.
DVD-Burner and HD aren't necesary since I already got some nice ones here(Optiarc Ad-7173A and Seagate 500G Serial-ATA II)
I'm willing to spend about 400-650 euro's.
So any suggestions?

It depends if the game you are playing can make use of all the 4 core's of the CPU a high end dual core would be anough to run games.
I recommend an Asus P5E MB. Link

That one is 350$! man sry but that's too much.
The motherboard has to be quad core compatible so socket 775.
Also i play like all these new games like COD4 and GOW and so on so it sure has to have some shit in it.
I was looking at the MSI NEO boards is that something?
I want to last this computer for quite a long time so it HAS to be quite next-gen.

For the CPU go for an E6600. If you can overclock it to 3Ghz or as high as you can get it. For a Graphics Card get an 8800GT since it's DX10 and is half the price of the GTX and gets about the same performance. Basically the 8800GT is the best bang for your buck Geforce 8. For the RAM get 2GB from Gskill just because it's usually cheaper from them. Maybe others will have more suggestions.

Get a 600Watt PSU just because if you need to overclock something it'll have the necessary watts to operate. Also HD = High Definition. HDD = Hard Drive Disk. :\ The Case just pick something you like...

You need a 500w+ power supply for stability of the system. The quality of the one you buy depends how much how money you are willing to spend. Glad you went with the Asus P5 it is a awesome motherboard.

I also think i will go for the Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 @ 160 euro since it seems to be much better for gaming at the moment then quad core and it saves me some money. By the time Quad core is common they will be much more cheaper.
