OK I have a DS Lite and most of the newer games are not working with the cheap R4 card I have. The main game I want working is Sonic Racing.

Is there a card going around at the moment that will play everything?

I have been told the Acekard 2i DSi Card is the best thing to have, is this right?

Excellent!

Do you still need to use patched game or will the normal (untouched roms) work?

Also can you get firmware updates for theAcekard 2i? If so where is the best place to keep an eye out for the updates?

Normal, untouched games will work.
Use AKAIO. It's the best firmware for the Acekard 2i. A thread will appear when there is a new firmware update. Look here to check.

That game will work with the Wood R4 firmware that's currently on the front page
It's not a permanent solution for other games, though.
Better he purchase a new flashcart than ask for assistance when ever a new game comes out. One less person using an R4.

Yep, the Acekard 2i is the best card for the DSi/DS Lite at the moment.
Purchase it from SHOPTEMP!.
Actually, only the best for DSi at the moment. CycloDS is the best for DS Lite, but it's not for whiny cheapskates.

I took price into account, too.

Please don't. Get an Acekard if you're looking for a cheap solution or a CycloDS if the price doesn't matter.

But if you want a better flashcart then I agree you should get an acecard or a cyclo DS since I will be getting a much better flashcart soon anyway

Price is often mentioned, although ShopTemp has one of the cheapest prices I've seen.

This is unrelated but is it just me or why can't I see my own display picture?

Because you haven't set one.

I was going to post a similar thread but I'll just ask here I think. I'm going to order a flashcard for my DSL and another my sister's DSiXL. Without going into the details here, she's not going to be able to set up or configure anything on the card, I'll do it all and then have to send it to her as I'm not in the same country any more. Now I've narrowed it down to the AceKard 2i or the M3i zero. Either I know is fine for me as all I want to do is play games and not worry about media playing or other features but what about the XL? Are both these cards compatible? And has anyone any preference? The reason I'm thinking about the M3i zero is because of the ability to update the firmware through the supplied USB cable should she update and block the card in the future. She's one of those people who always chooses to update stuff without thinking of the consequences.

Thanks in advance...

Acekard if she wont update(but is virtually impossible to block it because it uses a game header)
M3i if she is going to update without caring and it has a lot of extras (RTS-RTG-Slow Motion...)

Acrkard the best? May as well get an R4, pay $6 if thats the case and run wood. I'd wait for the new Supercard. That looks like it'll be the best.
