Hi!

I have a New 3DS XL that I installed CFW about a year ago using the arm9loaderhax exploit, following the guide (now removed) on https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki.
my understandning is that the
Today, after a long time, I started up the 3DS and received a message about a system update available (11.5). My CFW at the time was 11.2 so I did a quick search and my understanding was that it should be fine to update.

I did the system update and after that the 3DS didn't boot!

I read the guide again (now moved to https://3ds.guide) and my understanding is that the arm9loaderhax exploit has been superseeded by boot9strap. I followed the instructions for existing arm9loaderhax users to update their devices to boot9strap (https://3ds.guide/a9lh-to-b9s) but when I got to...

Section II - Installing boot9strap
1. Boot your device while holding (Start) to launch the Luma3DS chainloader menu

... nothing happens! I CAN boot into Luma3DS v.5.5 configuration by holding select when booting so I do not think everything is lost.

I have everything saved from the initial process on getting the arm9loaderhax exploit up and running, so hopefully I can get the 3DS up and running again?

Please advice! :(

Update luma first to 7.05 by replacing the current arm9loaderhax.bin, download the .7z file for 7.05 from GitHub and extract the arm9loaderhax.bin

If that doesn't work I've seen people suggest renaming the b9s installer to arm9loaderhax.bin

Make sure GodMode9.FIRM is in SD:/Luma/payloads.

Op is trying to run the safeb9instaler(or whatever it's called) not godmode9

Thank you for your help!

It was my own error! :S I had missed to rename SafeB9SInstaller.bin in the /luma/payloads/ folder to start_SafeB9SInstaller.bin. After this I could boot into the Luma3DS chainloader menu holding the start and power buttons.
