Homebrew Misc New 3DS Region Swap Issues

I'm planning on getting a New 3DS as I personally love the model and as I recently lost my old 3DS. A few issues arise from this however. I have a US NNID and I personally want it attached to the system. The plan is to homebrew it and region swap it. I got my friend's unused 3DS to recover my NNID so I can transfer it to the New 3DS. However I am unsure if that is even possible. I also don't have any other systems to help. Just the US New 3DS XL and the JP New 3DS.

How would I be going about doing this?

You need a NA N3DS not JPN N3DS, region change doesn't work for eshop

Problem is they never released the New 3DS in the US.

OH nevermind. I guess it did. Regardless, no way I could get my hands on a US one. They are like way too pricey

I do apologize. Anyway, would there be any point in even linking a NNID to a 3DS as the eshop is closing? As I have a Wii U with my NNID attached to it, any benefits of having the NNID on both?

game update still apply, so you would want to be in the same region as the game you install.
