You can just download netflix from the shop channel. It won't mess anything up. If shop channel tells you to update, then your need to update the shop channel first. You can use wii mod or find the newest shop channel wad to update it.

Ohh ok. Then I'm not sure. Don't you need a U.S. account to even get Netflix to work? You could also try updating the ios's that netflix uses. Then maybe that wad that you have won't keep telling you to update.

I'm not really sure. I'd update update all of them, but I'm not really sure if that will fix your problem or not. If you have a Australian wii then you might have to convert it to candian/us wii first. And I don't think its really worth doing. Sorry, maybe someone else could help you better.

Thats obvious, but I can't find anyway to update it? It isn't in NUSD for some reason and I don't know what IOS to update

You don't update the IOS, it's the channel itself that needs to be updated. It can only be updated by through the Shop Channel.

i believe its a region thing. like some countries dont offer the netflix update so it'll show that an update is available ut not show a new update is available in the shop channel. i suppose if you used an american ip it would.

Idk if it's different outside of North America, but just changing your shop region should work. Though you'll need to uninstall netflix using the wad you used to install it, or it won't update (has to do with tickets iirc) I got the hulu channel, just by changing my region to US (it appeared in the shop) I'm in Canada, so simply changing your region should give you out of region channels in the shop.

I've tried and I've never been able to install Netflix as a wad.

You need to extract the current netflix channel from a wii that has it. Unpack the wad, patch the the console id out of the ticket. Then repack the wad and install.

From 0x1D8 to 0x1DB in the wad's ticket is the 4-byte Console ID associated with the wad.

Either null it out, or change it to the Console ID of your new Wii, repack the wad, and it should then install fine.

I don't know, but possibly you could patch the version number of your current netflix wad. Use showmiiwads and elevate the version #. Possibly that would fool the netflix update.

I did it through SNEEK and with FS Toolbox, and it didn't help.

I have installed the my own packed netflix wad on all three of my wii's without issue. Same with hulu, amazon, wii transfer tool, and all wiiware/vc titles. It works fine.

Most likely I used wiimod or extracted with showmiiwads.
