Streaming giant Netflix announced earlier this week that it has acquired Night School Studio, the team behind Oxenfree. This move marks the first time that Netflix bought a video game studio and seems to be in line with earlier reports that the company plans to expand its streaming services to gaming. In the announcement post, Mike Verdu Netflix's VP of Game Development also began by stating that "we’re in the early stages of creating a great gaming experience for our members around the world".

Night School Studio's acquisition will not apparently not impact the development of the sequel to Oxenfree. "The Netflix team has shown the utmost care for protecting our studio culture and creative vision," said Sean Krankel, founder of Night School Studio. "We’ll keep making OXENFREE II."

So a Stranger Things MMO?

I know, I might be reaching the lowest hanging fruit here, but lets be honest who wouldn't think that this would be the direction they would be going?
Imagine how a Snowpiercer MMO would be
Millions of players stuck on a train
It would be sooooo crowded that you'll never see your character again after creation xD
