So I've decided to convert some of my old games to CIA format. I'm using a guide that says I need to view the nes.xml.txt file which I don't know where or how to access it. Any ideas? I'm supposed to view if the rom has VRAM and WRAM.

"Now, we need to find if the game is using WRAM (so games which use a backup battery) and VRAM (Video RAM). We'll use the "nes.xml.txt" file for that."

Am I going out converting the wrong way? Is there an easier way to do it?

Thanks for the help Megaben99 - he found https://raw.githubusercontent.com/mamedev/mame/master/hash/nes.xml which is what I needed.

I noticed in guide that I need to change the header to

"54 4E 45 53" which is TNES.......

my games start with "4E 45 53" and no 54 in the beginning which is NES......

do I have to insert the 54 to make it TNES and shift everything over or just leave it NES starting with 4E?

Update: yes I do - no 54 makes the system freeze but with a 54 causes the game to not run. I'm trying to convert Dragon Warrior with the header:

"4E 45 53 1A 04 02 12 00 00 00"

I edited it to:

"54 4E 45 53 01 08 02 01 01 00"

but am having no luck.... thoughts?
