I have a softmodded wii console running 3.2e firmware together with the GC cmios and im looking into updating to the latest software but........... im lost!
Could someone tell me to which firmware should i update to and which are the required steps involved ?

I thought that i could brick my wii by installing those cmios files without fresh install or upgrade.

Installing a bad system menu, or the wrong IOS can brick your system. 3.2 uses IOS30 for example, if you would install the latest IOS30, you would brick your Wii, because that's a stub IOS. As long as you don't change the IOS the system menu or priiloader uses, installing a cIOS (slot 200+) is very unlikely to brick your Wii. And a cMIOS has no chance to brick, because you could even delete it if you wanted to. But please just don't delete system titles, ok?

No, when you play Gamecube games on a Wii, the Wii turns into a Gamecube, so all non Gamecube features like USB and Wireless controllers turn off.

I have a Chip modded Wii, but I also installed homebrew channel and others loaders/aplications.

I already tried to install MIOS v4, v5, v8, v9, v10.

And I put the DVD and tried to open it with GC backup launcher just go back to the homebrew channel, and with neogamma says something like:

"BC ticket views error"

and then:

"Gamecube Error"

I have:
Neogamma R9 b50, d2x56v6 (249)
System 4.2U

It's a RETAIL DISC (downloaded a NTSC ISO from internet)

What's IOS, cIOS, MIOS, cMIOS recommended? (don't know much about this things)

Start the game, then eject and reinsert the disc before the error pops up. NeoGamma shouldn't need this, but for that you need to install the recommend cMIOS. And the BC error is something new to me. Maybe you should install the latest BC, which you can do with ModMii or NUS Downloader + WAD Manager.

It's the 1st time i hear about it. But it looks sneek related and also replaces the MIOS. Hmm, if NeoGamma is booted from Sneek, that could explain the BC error, but if somebody does stuff like that, i demand that it's mentioned.

Ok, I got the latest BC from Nus downloader, and already install it.

I forgot to say that before install BC comes the error before the Edgar Allan Poe, the game don't even started. That happened because I changed a lot of times the MIOS, I think.

When I installed the BC version 6, appeared the Edgar Allan Poe poem and freeze there.

Do you think I have to change the MIOS, or cMIOS, to what version?

With Neogamma R9 b50 and GC backup launcher appeared the same error: "An error has ocurred. Turn the power OFF and check the Nintendo GameCubeTM Instruction Booklet for further instructions.

I have uninstalled MIOS v4 and Installed MIOS 10 now...

I tried to run it with Neogamma and Appears the image of GC Backup Launcher.

Appears Loading retail Disc and another options Pal 60, No, No,

Audio Streaming Set,...

And then I tried to remove the dvd and says something like The cover is open, and I put the dvd again and appears the same error.

Hmm, if you ejected at the correct time(after getting a screen from the game, but before the error) and still get the error, i fear your modchip is bad, and NeoGamma can't do anything about your problem.
