Context: Me and my friend modded a Wii we bought. This was because the mii channel was corrupted. We used WAD manager to restore it and that worked. When I powered it on again, the homebrew channel would boot to a black screen. Out of stupidity and my impatience, I decided to DELETE the homebrew channel through the wii’s system settings. HackMii would not boot so that I could reinstall Homebrew. I formatted the wii’s system memory multiple times.

I tried multiple hacks multiple times including Str2hax, letterbomb, bluebomb, and smash stack. I believe that I had bricked my wii in a way that I am unable to boot into the HackMii installer. I did try to boot into bootmii and priiloader using the right commands but those weren’t installed so I cannot restore the NAND without reflashing it. I do have access to recovery mode though, which may be my last resort.

Please tell me if there is any way to fix this without reflashing the NAND, or if I should just go ahead and reflash it.

NOTE: Everything else works on the Wii, System menu, settings, mail, channels and games work fine despite some other hardware issues physically.

You could try modmii's hackmii solutions wizard, although in this case I'm not sure it will work

You can launch into bootmii via Casper, even without it installed. Modmii can help you with that by running the Casper2Bootmii.bat file from inside its support folder

From there you can restore a nand backup, or create a new one, and in a pinch u can use ohneschwanzenegger to build you a new virgin nand for your specific console following these directions https://wii.hacks.guide/wii-factory-reset.html

I have put in the files for the sd card using the bat file you mentioned, but bootmii will not boot when I turn on the wii. Do I have the right files?

I was able to run Casper through Letterbomb but I got this screen and a few seconds later it resets and nothing changes, which I theorize to be from the ini file used to run Casper.

ANOTHER Update: I actually managed to get into BootMii by retrying multiple times, and it for some reason has like a 20% chance to load at times. When I do manage to get into BootMii, if I use the power/reset buttons or a gamecube controller and go and try to backup my NAND, the Wii resets and I have to try and get into BootMii again. It also resets whenever I click RESET/A on anything.

Do you get an kind of error message or new log saved to sd when you try and backup your nand using bootmii?

If I had to guess, bootmii doesn't like your sd card, so maybe try a dif one, or double check its formatted as fat32 and MBR

I was finally able to get into bootmii again and I realized I just forgot what each button did in the program. I was able to back up my nand and now I’m going to use the modmii software to try and restore IOS’s.
