Hacking need help updating psp

ok so recently i bought a used psp-3004. I have been trying to update it from 6.20 (says this in system information) and have been only getting a message that update failed i am in suspision that the previous owner tried cracking it but had no luck. I tried using chronoswitch downgrade but no luck. any ideas on how to solve this problem?

Did you use an Sony Memory Stick or an MicroSDHC Adaptor ?

I use a MicroSDHC Adaptor because i don't have any way to putting stuff on and off a Sony Memory Stick

That is maybe an potential source of error.
Did you re-format the microSD Card ?

Did the VSH Menu appears when you press SELECT on the Main Menu/PSP Screen ?

Did you get an Error Code/Message on the Update ?
Is the Update starting and then stucks ?

I don't know if the microSD Card formated but i did format it on the psp like the format Memory Stick option

The Update starts normaly but after the black screen a message pops up saying "The update cannot be started. The data is corrupted. (IDXFFFFFFFF)"

I only know this Error when downgrading the PSP Firmware.

Maybe if you like you can read through this and try to Install the Original FW 6.20 again and then try to Update.

What is the VSH Menu?

If some Custom Firmware is still there maybe the Menu appears.

Please hold the RIGHT Shoulder Button on Powering on the PSP.
If a Custom Firmware is still there you get into the Recovery Menu.
