Considering the name of your homebrew, maybe something resembling the original pictochat would also looks nice. Like the pictochat icon on a 3D cube. It would also keep the icon simple and uncluttered.

Oh! I know how to incorporate all of these! Let me know what you think. So during the public beta releases I will use everyones icon - a different icon for different release. We will see what the forums like! Then who ever gets the most votes will get the final icon!
