Hardware Need Amiibo Advice A.S.A.P!!!

My advice? Quit while you're ahead. These amiibos, while nice, are just not worth the time, stress, and gas money. Nintendo failed big time (again) with simple supply and demand. To be fair, even they didn't know that these things would take off as they have. I'm trying to get a Rosalina for my daughter, which of course are exclusive to Target and sold out in minutes. The only way to get them is to pay the price-gouging pieces of sh*t ebay resellers, but I refuse to do that.

Its not really a failure though, with something like this, it was clear from the onset that there would be characters with a smaller run, hence characters appearing only exclusively at certain stores. Nintendo purposely made it a point to supply less than the demand only to increase the interest in collecting them all. Seems pretty obvious to me. If they had every character available from the start with enough supply to meet the current demand, well then the demand in that hypothetical situation would actually be less than it is now due to lack of interest in collecting them as they no longer would seem like having a complete collection would be of much value and therefore they'd see less sales than they do now, and a lot more amiibos would just be sitting on shelves collecting dust not getting bought. Seems like Nintendo probably knew exactly what they were doing when they decided how much of each amiibo to produce.

Or they wanted to reduce their risk in having leftover inventory before new waves are launched. Right now they're fine with just enough amiibo for everyone before the next wave is out. Some amiibo are lucky to have ever been produced. I mean, Wii Fit Trainer, really? I bet some kids really look up to that role model of a character and really wanted Wii Fit Trainer in their lives. So this is just business 101 on how to make production levels big enough to be worth the manufacturing costs, but small enough to not make a loss in the long run. Nintendo is a business after all, it'd make no sense if they started producing a few extra amiibo just to please some random collectors.

yeah I touched on that a little bit as well. Like I was saying I don't see the way they're handling their amiibo inventory as a "failure" as the person I quoted had said, I think the way they're handling it is actually very well thought out and probably right where they need to be to be maximizing on Amiibo profits.

I might know someone who perhaps has access to selling you a Villager as he's told me a shop near him has loads of them but here's the thing, I don't know if he's ever sent anything to US and in case it got lost it'd be troublesome so a tracked service would be ideal.

I have to wonder, why's Lucario and Toon Link going for more in US? I just don't see the appeal for these two characters going rare as they look just about OK. Toon Link's nicely detailed and way better than Teen Link but eh, it's Toon Link.

It should arrive within the next few days so I can't wait to finally have my own Villager and Rosalina.
