Just to add, 80Mbp is considered "low end" for HomePlugs these days, whilst 200Mbps is standard and 500Mbps are common too (for around 10% more).

I've got an old second-hand pair connected to my brother's computer downstairs (router is upstairs, in my room) and it actually worked straight away. Took a minute to connect (didn't need to press any buttons) automatically, and now it works fine. Beats running a 20m cable over the floors and down the stairs, and WiFi N isn't strong enough to catch downstairs (drops to 1 bar signal). Here's what Scan.co.uk have on sale.
