Hacking NDSSFC DSTWO 3DS Freezing

Hi guys!
I just setup my DSTWO and I put the newest version of NDSSFC off of supercards website.
Everything seems normal until I try to load up the rom list.
I goto New> Select Games
And it freezes. Nothing on the screen changes. I can back out either, I have to hit home or power off.
I read that you may need to unzip your ROMs so I did. No change. I have 314 roms in the gamepak folder plus a sub folder with 29 homebrewed snes roms.

Any ideas my good chums?

That's a lot of roms. Try having only a few in the gamepak folder itself, and see if anything changes.

I split the games between 3 directories housing 105 roms each. loads fine now.
Although the actual emulation play is not nearly playable. Menus and cutscenes run at 100% perfect but the gameplay is so choppy you cannot play.
Running at cpu 4
