I knew that NDSL turns off if one screen' flat cable is unconnected. This is very annoying since, during PCB testing of no-working console, would be great detouch the flat cable of upper screen to work more comfortably. Today I read (on http://nocash.emubase.de/gbatek.htm#cpureference) a more precise note on this:
The mainboard can be operated without screens & backlights connected , however, if so, the power supply will shut-down as soon as backlights are enabled.
The same reference reports that there are two bits of register 0 of Power Management Device that could be set to zero via software to disable backlight of upper and lower screen. But this can be made on a working DS !!!
So, the problem is how turn off the backlight via hardware on a no-working console. Is it possible ?
