The problem i am having is every time i download and put a NDSTheme on my ds and load it up it comes out all pixelated and crap any tips to fix this problem using ofw if that makes a difference.

Get the skin editor, open it with it, save it, and install it to your memory card using the skin editor.

AKEdit constantly converts images to 16bit BMPs every time you save.
This causes the image quality to be "reduced" every time.

If someone creating (or using) the skin doesn't realize this, images can become VERY distorted very fast.

A simple (from the end-user/skin-maker standpoint) would be to allow 24bit BMPs as most image editors use that as standard.
Also for some reason, Photoshop's 16bit BMPs are displayed incorrectly also with almost inverted colors.Strike that... Apparently Photoshop's default (X1 R4 G4 B4) works. But the colors are a little.... flat? Dull maybe?
The Black/White is fine... same with the Blues.
But the Reds look soft and Yellow looks almost gold.
Green is a little bit dark, but not bad.

Although it's been said already - it's because the pictures are made as 24-bit colour depth - the acekard only accepts 16-bit colour depth pictures.

You can use the AKEdit program - but as said it does degrade the graphics each time you use/save it, but alternatively... if you're willing to spend a little time... you can also use GIMP art package

Load in one of the graphics from the NDSTheme download
> Select 'Save As'
> Choose the same folder as you loaded it in from (since there's no alteration you have the same filename as it was loaded as i.e. *.bmp)
> [Save]
> [Replace] (to overwrite the original graphic)
> When you see the 'Advanced options', expand it & choose 16-bit 'X1 R5 G5 B5'
> [Save]

That's it - your 24-bit graphics has now been converted to a 16-bit graphics for use on the Acekard, & with no degrading (that I know of)

everytime i try to load the folder up it says this folder is missing the following files and gives a list of files that are in the folder -_-

Ah - you mean it's saying 'calendar' is missing in AKEdit are you ??

If so - in the folder you downloaded from NDSTheme make a new folder called 'calendar',
then move the mentioned files into this new folder

you should then have
Code:
NDSTheme (folder)
!
!- calendar (folder)
!ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ!
!ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ!- clock_numbers.bmp
!ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ!- clock_colon.bmp
!ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ!- day_numbers.bmp
!ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ!- year_numbers.bmp
!
!- brightness.bmp
!- btn2.bmp

etc etc etc
