So how would one use this to build an nro such as homebrew launcher into an nca? Would I just put the nro in an empty folder and then select that folder in the ncabuilder program?

Oh, you can do that? I didn't know.
Yeah, its the "Install Extracted NSP" option IIRC

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

i cant figure this out, i dont know what all the options mean
im guessing we need the source code of the NRO to use this, if not then i have 0 idea how to use this

i really want solarus DX on my homescreen

the real question is, is how do you go about actually installing the NCA with tinfoil? what folder does the NCA need to be in?

I've tested this:

Extracted an NCA file, and repacked with the NCA Builder. It installs, but it gives an error when running it.
(The NCA file installs and works just fine before the unpacking and repacking)
So something is still not right I guess....

Edit: I've extracted the NCA file using hactool with the following command:
Code:
hactool -x -y -k keys.dat --section0dir=NCA/section0 --section1dir=NCA/section1 --section2dir=NCA/section2 --exefsdir=NCA/exefs --romfsdir=NCA/romfs --titlekey=<TITLEKEY> <NCAFILE.nca>
