hmmmm well tbh anyone who agrees to look at it would most likely not be able to say for certain that they could 100% fix it unless they are planning to just switch the motherboard.....so depending on the person you would probably end up paying and not being guaranteed a fix
tbh just buying a replacement motherboard may be a better option for you at this point, as long as you feel you can fit it fine yourself
Hello,
Ok. I found a replacement motherboard, got it working but now I have a new problem. There's something wrong with the current firmware. First it worked normally (I haven't used Gateway or anything with it) but now after couple months has passed (and my children have used it rarely) I tried to go to system settings and only got black screen. It just won't go there, I have tried many times. Also, I have two original games, both needs newer firmware to work and I tried to update with those games. Updating process went about 2/3 at best time and then freezed. I have tried updating the system with both original games and also tried to go to system update screen with R + L + A + "up" from D-pad when starting and also got black screen. Don't know what else to do, has someone else had this problem?

Hey Brave, There are some kinds of that SD slot, and please make sure the one you choose matches the PIN definitions. So I managed to finish the mod, and get into the blue screen. So happy I didnt short my console!
Only problem is that I cant find the 3DS as a drive letter on my PC. I think my soldering is all fine as everything's working as it should, so Im guessing its the card reader (A Belkin universal media reader), would this be the most likely scenario?

if i had to guess i would say this could possibly be a alt for dat0, very small point, but seeing as TP marking etc seem to be the same across 3DS/XL and this pin on the 3DS XL on [RA2] is connected directly to the dat0-3 lines, i would say its pretty likely that will be a dat0 alt point.....but i dont have a o3DS at hand to test my theory, in regards to the other components, idk, might be better for someone to test them on another consoleHello guys, I need some help with a customer ruined 3DS
The guy was trying to modify a CIA (didn't explain exactly what and how) and inject to the sysNAND and ended up with the black screen "brick". Since he had his sysNAND backup he tried to do it himself and totally messed up (figures).
So, he ripped off DAT0 and CMD. I can easily recover the CMD because the trace ends in a small connection, but not DAT0, so do you guys know another alternative point for DAT0?
I read on page 3 or so @hundshamer saying he believes there are no alternate points but the user he was trying to help, luckily, ripped off CMD and was able to fix it the way I will.
Also (if that was not too much), he ripped off two other components near TP250. I believe they are resistors but I cannot double check their values and, since the other ones also have solder marks I won't trust their values.
Any salvation for this board?
PS: There are some portuguese text in the picture. That's the same picture I've sent to the customer to "explain" what happened.
SUA PLACA means YOUR BOARD
FOTO PARA COMPARAÇAO means PICTURE TO COMPARE

I just probed and it beepedif i had to guess i would say this could possibly be a alt for dat0, very small point, but seeing as TP marking etc seem to be the same across 3DS/XL and this pin on the 3DS XL on [RA2] is connected directly to the dat0-3 lines, i would say its pretty likely that will be a dat0 alt point.....but i dont have a o3DS at hand to test my theory, in regards to the other components, idk, might be better for someone to test them on another console

Thats normal, the blue screen should only appear when plugged into the reader (or PC reader). The most likely problem youre having is a non compatible SD reader. If you do have a compatible reader then your wiring is wrongbump
@Apache Thunder
Got to hardmod a 3DS, but the bluescreen error only appears if I turn on the 3DS WHEN plugged to the PC, unplugged it boots to blackscreen.
Even plugged there isn't any removable disk shown.

Using a non-compatible reader doesnt mean your wires are right, the only way to ascertain the problem is to remove a variable. Get a compatible reader, then if it doesnt work, you definitely know the reader isnt the issue.I'm using a Kingston SD REader BTW, and thanks for the reply, it means that my wires are soldered in a proper way then , the problem resides on the SD reader itself, I will double check that
