Just flashed 4.4 from 6.3 and everything works as normal.

I'm curious; did you download any software in 6.3, and does it still appear on your menu after the downgrade?

In other news

I have a USB - 3DS port cable. (used for charging).

I'm wondering if there's any way to use it to read content on the 3ds.

The content downloaded on higher firmwares gets deleted after the downgrade.
There is nothing you can do with USB charger. It’s not even a data cable.

I was wondering if it was akin to PSP, where you could use the cable to transfer data (given correct protocols) and also to charge.

Because for ease of access for devs and whatnot, to solder the board and stuff is troublesome;
I was just considering the possibility that the port was used for more than just charging.

Here it is, just backed up the third 3DS XL.
Ugly as hell :D Only had a old soldering iron at hand, that's why I tried to do it solderless.
Poor 3DS would have died :P
As soon as I get a better soldering iron, I will make a new one with a flex cable which comes out of the battery compartment.

My board is only fixated with some tape and the pressure of the case.

I like the look of your pogo-pin/solderless method. Are you able to write it up as a proper tutorial?

Was there a alternate CLK point to solder too for a 3DSXL i have installed my 3ds capture kit which is very fragile and i don't want to move my usb location for the capture kit. just wondering if there is a alternate CLK location on the screen side of the board? 3DSBREW probably has the answer for this?

Ok now my mod works fine

Under the battery cover are the Micro SD Adapter and if i use this with a Cardreader it changes automatically to the Blue Screen.

I have made a Backup and it works fine :yaysp:

I have a idea for a Downgrade Mod but i dont have a Old Backup from version 4.5 or lower..
Can anyone Help me? Give me a older Backup? Please? Thanks!

I like your mod. Does the thickness of the wires cause any problems at the point they get into the battery compartment? I was thinking of using some flexible flat cable (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flexible_flat_cable) to get into there, but if normal wires work then those would be easier to obtain and connect.

Also, is there really room for the SD card adapter to live inside the console when not in use, without bulging the case too much?

There's no point anyone giving you an older backup of their console as it won't work on your console.

the SoC generates the clock signal. Connect the card reader and turn the 3DS/XL on. A bootrom error is displayed. At this point the SoC doesn't generate a clock signal, because it isn't needed.
Why does the 3DS need to be switched on to dump the firmware?

Hello

Thanks

I think flexible flat cable are the better option for this Mod.
I used the cable in my mod because i had nothing else...
I have no problems with the battery compartment.

The room for the sd card are enough... its bulging the chase a little bit but not too much

Yes i know that other older backups dont work on my 3DS Console ;)
I got an idea to make it work :yaysp:

But for that i am dependent on your help
