Hardware N3DS XL D-Pad not working

As title states, D-Pad simply is not responding, went as far as changing out the daughterboard and still don't work.

Customer previously tried to do a hardmod themselves and damaged the CMD point, not sure if this would be the cause of the issue or not.

They also had a bunch of connectors and what not messed up so it all could be related some how.
