Hi
Last 4 weeks i have been struggling with the n3ds repair. The smaller models, to be exact. I've found out that for the console to boot up, there are only 6 obligatory connectors . I've marked them down in the pictures. Tested it out in at least 2 consoles, so it does work.

Also, does the white paste interfere anyhow with the motherboard? Is there anyway to clean it up? The resistors, and some pins are covered in it.

Please explain what the white paste looks like. Mine doesn't have it. Did you get your console used? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

The paste is normal, it's usually a type of epoxy resin used to keep things from moving or being tampered with. Mine personally didn't have any around the NAND chip but that might just depend on the region it was manufactured for etc.
