Hacking N3DS 10.1.0-27E Downgrade?

Hey Guys!

I just bought a N3DS (not XL) for 100€ with the firmware 10.1.0-27E, so I am planning to downgrade to 9.2.0E. Does anyone here know if this downgrade is safe as it is 10.1.0-27E not 10.3?. I will use SafeSysUpdater to downgrade (idk if its better to use safesys... or normal sys) and get the .cia files from "that iso" site *wink*. Failed downgrades can only softbrick the n3ds atm, right?

Can anyone help me out? Maybe link a guide or something of that sort?

I am not that keen on this particular modding stuff... Especially the whole NNID unlinking and ReiNAND installation :c
Really happy now as I got the N3DS THIS cheap... NO idea what the heck the guy was thinking by offering it for this small amount of money

you can use the normal sysupdater to update to 10.3 and then downgrade from there if downgrading from 10.1 sounds scary

I am pretty sure upgrading to a specific version is 10000x riskier tho.. I read it somewhere on the forum

Downgrading from 10.1.0-27E should be fine, people are just focusing on 10.3 because it's the latest supported. There's no guarantees in this though, so if you can't afford a new 3DS maybe it's best to leave it for now (turn off updates) and wait till you can.

I bought mine this morning, same firmware and downgraded using safesys. I didn't bother updating to 10.3 first. Past that I set up emunand, unlinked the nands then updated emunand to latest firmware and using Reinand 3.2b. Hardest part was getting the browser to work to be able to load browserhax to install menuhax but I followed this thread and had no trouble, I actually posted there earlier.

Just don't do what I did and crap yourself when it doesn't boot after restarting. Remember you need to take your SD card out because of menuhax. I sat there for 10 minutes before realizing I hadn't bricked it.

I already got Browserhax to work on 10.1 (I dont fkin know how but whatevs) and installed Menuhax so I should be good to go with safesys huh? Man I wanna do it but I also dont wanna do it, if this thing hardbricks idk what I am gonna do.

There's no 100% safe way to downgrade. It doesn't matter if you downgrade from 10.1 or 10.3, you'll still need lots of water to drink while it's downgrading.

Considering I am a person that likes to panic a lot.... I think I will need a lot more than just water. I will be shitting bricks in anticipation of a hardbrick.

I think I will try to downgrade tomorrow... Dont have the nerves right now lol
