Hardware my wii doesn't read the HDD anymore

Hi,

I got this Hdd with games on it, which we accessed trough Wii flow
Untill recently without problems.. kids played now for a week
Or two games from CDs and when they tried to connect to the
HDD now again, it appears just for a second purple line on black
Screen and then it stays just black..
What can be wrong with it?
also the console cannot be switched off anymore (the green light
Won't turn red)
any help?

Did any of the disc games contain updates? Do you still have access to Homebrew Channel? If so, can you post a SysCheck please?

We have never used homebrew chanell, what is it for?
Im in it now, where do i find the SysCheck?
