Spoiler for very large image:
aHquU.jpg

I've only had my 3DS for a day, and already I've filled 12/16 pages of my activity log.

A couple of titles are missing, couldn't find my copies of MMBN5 DS or Yoshi's Touch and Go, for some reason.
No way in hell I'm sticking my flashcart in there though, in the long run I'll only be using my 3DS for 3DS games.

97 titles in there, how many can you name?
FYI, some of them appear to be duplicates, but are either a demo copy, a shared icon between games, or two copies from different regions.

Did the NDS Browser work?

Nah, it didn't.
You'd have thought they might've emulated the expanded RAM mode, but I guess not.
We'll just have to wait for the firmware update that has the Netfront browser, expect it to be a hell of a lot better anyhow.
Bigger resolution for one, more power for another, internal memory for the win.

Actually it was fun playing each of my old games for a little bit again.
Ended up playing the beginning of Megaman Starforce for over 20 minutes, save for trying to be just ONE game of Solitaire on 42 All Time Classics.

Good stuff RupeeClock! I admire your collection of DS games. So far I just have SM64DS in there. Playing that game with the circle pad is awesome.
Edit: You willing to trade FCs?

Might as well, I don't have anything ready to play but there's still the online status or whatever.

Jealous about what? I'd never waste so much room and money by keeping all my old games. If I had those games I'd instantly put them on ebay and buy something useful with the money.

Only played up to the tutorial battle, but walking around the map was fine, and battle seemed fine too.
But the menus were a little awkward to navigate (like most grid-based stuff on the slider-pad) and I imagine if I played it enough, I'd be accidentally using the shield or mega-attack a lot.

did sonic rush/rush adventure/colors look good because of the speed and the 3ds' blur in ds games.

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They haslve dedicated on board chips that aren't tweaked like x64/x32 afaik
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
but its a custom os for both of them
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
    designed for only specific hardware
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
so you have to learn to emulate that specific hardware which isn't as easy as you'd think
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
It's a locked down Linux distro basically
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think the only custom hardware is to do with the SSD and a security chip
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Probably combined in one chip
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They place married security chips onto boards iirc

Didn't see much need for a console, all the advantages have kind of disappeared
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
the ps3 used to support installing linux because the cpu was so powerful
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Then the games are $70 and they want to reboot and refresh the same game every year
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
The ps3 was always Linux they just found a way to make it open source
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
I'm avoiding buying from the big 3 at all atm
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
At one point PC game pads where poorly supported, loading a game had setup, it was complicated. Now it's almost as easy as a console.

considering the steamdeck can emulate the switch (yikes) theres almost 0 reason to buy the switch apart from playing online and using cartridges
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Xinput and 360 dongles were a driver nightmare
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
