Hacking Multiple questions about 3DS hacking

Greetings, dear Tempers!


I've been away from the scene for a long while and barely skimming updates on occasion so I need some (rather a lot of!) help with my and my brother's 3DSes...

We've always been using GW ever since it was released and everything was fine back then but CFWs came and drove GW bastards off the scene.
What's the best CFW for piracy purposes (pretty direct ) there is and would you kindly link me a guide from our fellow Tempers??

Also, my brother would like to mod his Pokemon (I think Moon?) for money or something...
Is there a memory editor function I can use in GW-emulated FW for a game installled via CIA?

I never understood what B9S was but the description fits the bill perfectly.
Is it safe to normally update my very outdated N/3DS to latest from Nintendo and THEN start with this guide??

Older firmwares are more easily hackable so check out 3ds.guide for what your firm currently is, I wouldn't advise updating to current firm. If anything do a cart update for a specific hackable firmware.

As for cia save management JKSM is great for dumping both cart and installed game saves. Or if Pokemon editing is a goal try out PKSM it is a reduced pkhex you can run on your ds even without dumping your save
