Hey, im not tech savy what so ever but could there be a way for this to be made accessible for Cemu emulators ? I've shortly ago downloaded Skylanders but getting my hands on a portal and skylanders is not easy to do (and its very expensive)

Is there a way for this to be digitally used or is that somehow not possible ?

if you do not have the hardware to build it you are out of luck for cemu, unless they add a portal emulator, like rpcs3 does.
So your best bet would be to use rpcs3 atm

Yeah, ive noticed RPCS3 has the only portal emulator. But the one big downside to RPCS3 is the huuuuge performance issues it has. Ill look into it though thank you

Alternative, if compatible with cemu, you will nead at least the portal and a rewritable NFC Chip. And if i remember correct a smartphone with NFC to write them to it, if no NFC adapter available.

I hate to be that guy, but can anyone make this for me or simplify it, I ain’t much of a coder of any sort, but this seems way to complicated for me

Many thanks for releasing this. I managed to put the hardware together without too much trouble, although I did have to replace my existing LCD1602 with one which had an I2C address of 0x27. If anyone else has trouble getting the LCD to initialize, then the I2C address could be the source of the problem. The only remaining issue that I have, is that progress does not seem to be saved to the skylanders in game (e.g. gold, experience etc.). Every time I load a skylander, they go back to having no gold and experience. Is this expected behavior? Or do I need to check my wiring again?

expected behaviour is that the skylander gets written

Hoping you can help me troubleshoot here...
I've got everything hooked up. The LCD can cycle through the Skylanders just fine, and the game is running fine. I'm on the Wii and plugged into slot 1 (which I've read is the only compatible one for a portal). The game says it can't find the USB receiver. Do you have any ideas for fixing this?
I'm going to try on PS3 in a little, but I'd rather play on the Wii, so any help would be appreciated.

Edit: Tried on PS3. After initializing, I briefly get a welcome message and then it loops back to initialization.

After testing with my genuine portal, Skylanders and hardware, I discovered that my issues were entirely caused by the emulator I was originally using to test the device. The device was working correctly in the first place, it was the emulator that was not.

Your problem sounds quite different, so I am not sure how much help I can be. The portal displays three messages as it boots.

Starting Initialization -> Finished Initializing -> Skylander Portal Emulator

The last message remains on the screen constantly, except when selecting different slots or files. If your device is behaving correctly then it would seem possible that there is some kind of problem with the connection to your console. It might be worth trying a different USB cable and possibly connecting the device to a PC if you have one available. If you run Zadig and Options -> List All Devices, you should be able to find the device listed as 'Spyro Porta' in the device drop down.
