I recently updated my mt-card to v1.1 and setup the emunand. Today when I turned on my 3ds, the exploit failed to work. The profile screen loaded. My real firmware was still 4.5.

I had to reinstall the exploit from the blue MT-Card and things are back to normal.
I did remove the network connection from my base firmware before turning off my 3ds last night (But i cannot see how this will make a difference)

Before people comment in mass: I did not update my main firmware to 7. My base fw is still 4.5.

How did this happen?
Should I be worried that this happened?

If you run a ds game or use ds download play, the exploit will be removed. I also recall having to redo the exploit when I updated my gateway firmware but I don't remember if I ran ds download play before that. Either way, it's no big deal.

first off this is a question that should have been asked in the stickied noob paradise thread its there for a reason however more than likely as the other users have said you probably ran a ds mode game/flashcart or ds download play

Good luck getting this issue of unnecessary threads by noobs & people that don't read/care to stop. Even if the mods put in big bold red letters that take up most of the front page to not create useless threads or you'll be banned, these threads will still pop up.

To the OP, yeah, you probably loaded a ds game that wiped out the exploit like everybody else said.

eh yeah i guess i shouldnt be jumping this guy too much i mean i was down the super noob road once too and posted stuff in this forum before going to noob paradise but i think it would be a good for the site owner to not allow anyone to post a thread until they have made atleast 50 forum comments/replys

Tbh the problem with the "NOOB" thread is that most of the time, said noob doesn't really know they are a noob, for all they know this is a crazy legitimate non noob bug

Sometimes it's best to just answer the question and let the topic sink back to the depths of the forum :P

I did the same when I first joined here... Got beaten down for it. Funny though, I also once posted a question in the n00b paradise section... My question was answered with 'find out for yourself'.
So telling people they should dump shit in n00b paradise is misleading... Some real assholes on this forum lol.

People should expect a bit of a haze for n00b questions that have been answered 100s of times, if exploit fails to run, reinstall it, its as simple as that, if you base is still 4.x, nothing to worry about, but people should know, its pretty standard for seasoned members to have a god complex, it goes with the territory, thats life :)

As maybe, but to read 1,338 replies to the thread to obtain info is a lot of work when people are relatively happy to provide jut to help out with an answer right off the bat (gotta love karma).

Does this exploit failing happen on GW 2.0b2? I've not used DS mode since I purchased the cart.

Wat.

So if I announced that using MT card I was able to play the Jap release of Kirby in english, are you going to ask if the same thing happens with GW 2.0b2?

I think this thread should be finished/locked the answer has been given, no need to keep bumping a simple question like this so much,

The ds profile exploit is removed if you play and ds/dsi/gba games in any format be it eshop or retail cart or flash card or even ds download play, this applies to all 3ds flashcards GW/MT/R4 even home brew that uses the profile exploit will need the DS profile hack reinstalled after playing ds games, it's just how it works

Sorry, i didn't realize i was asking in the Flammer's Paradise thread. :)

That aside, i don't use DS mode either. I think what caused the exploit to be removed was going to the DS Profile menu in the emunand after it was updated and turning off the DS.

Yes, that is another cause as well. Good job, Dr House fellow.
