It streams shoutcast which is primarily radio stations but shoutcast also streams video too http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nullsoft_Streaming_Video. It's mostly people just streaming what they're watching on their tv but good quality, not like that justin tv rubbish.
It streams other web tv too, it comes with one already in the config file to play when you install it to your homebrew channel, some music tv channel. Adding them is as easy as pasting the url into the text file, the url is clickable once you boot up mplayerwii on your wii. It fills the screen with decode errors when I play a shoutcast video but after about 30 seconds the picture finally appears.
